P&D Driver
About The Position
As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally and represent Southeastern Freight Lines while serving regular customers. As a tractor-trailer operator, you drive in various conditions and perform vehicle operations such as coupling and uncoupling, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. The role includes inspecting vehicles, managing cargo loading and unloading, and ensuring transport documents are accurate and compliant, especially for hazardous materials. You must maneuver safely in heavy traffic and tight spaces, report incidents or delays, and follow safety regulations and company policies while providing professional customer service.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of driving experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements and no automatic restrictions.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple mathematical calculations; handle receipts; read maps and road signs; and maintain driving logs.
- Detailed knowledge of and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazardous-material transportation requirements.
- Meet DOT physical qualifications.
- Pass alcohol and drug tests.
