About The Position

As a P&D Driver, you pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally and serve as a regular point of contact for Southeastern Freight Lines customers. The role operates a tractor-trailer in various conditions and includes coupling and uncoupling equipment, connecting lines, and adjusting equipment. Drivers inspect vehicles, manage cargo loading and unloading, and ensure transport documents are accurate and compliant, particularly when handling hazardous materials. The role requires maneuvering in heavy traffic and tight spaces, reporting incidents and delays, following safety regulations and company policies, and providing professional customer service.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of driving experience; 1 year is preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers endorsements, and no automatic restrictions.
• At least 21 years old.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write in English; perform simple mathematical calculations; handle receipts; read maps and road signs; and maintain driving logs.
• Detailed knowledge of and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including those governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and hazardous-material transportation.
• Meet DOT physical qualifications.
• Pass alcohol and drug tests.
