US P&C Finance Intern

The P&C Finance Intern will learn about reinsurance and applications through on the job training with consummate members of the organization. They will gain technical, analytical, and decision-making skills through formal and informal learning opportunities. The intern will enhance analytical skills utilizing various applications (Business Objects, MS Excel) and complete special projects or assignments that assist the Finance and accounting departments. Additionally, the intern will network with senior leaders and experienced teammates to develop an understanding of the industry as well as create professional connections, and receive formal and informal feedback throughout the program. Requirements
- Working towards the completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in insurance and/or Risk Management, Business, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, other business, analytical, or data related field, or advanced degree at an accredited college or university.
- Strong academic performance and experience working on a variety of projects
- Demonstrated flexibility in managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products (with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint)
- Valid authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities
- Complete assigned closing tasks on a timely basis
- Organize and maintain comprehensive files to support all audits
- Adhere to timelines set in local closing calendars
- Run reports to provide support for the daily Landing during the US Statutory quarter close period
- Review quarterly variance analysis
- Investigate possible anomalies during analysis of local results
- Prepare various analytical reports and aid technical reporting and regulatory reporting departments with other special projects
- Present data-driven recommendations to the Finance team
