About The Position
CityVet is opening a brand-new clinic in Buda, a fast-growing community just south of Austin. The real estate is already secured, allowing the new owner to focus on building their team and caring for patients. This is a true ownership opportunity where the Lead Veterinary Partner will hold equity in the practice they build, with CityVet providing support throughout the process. The secured location offers a faster path to opening day, enabling quicker design, build-out, hiring, and patient care, leading to earlier earnings and equity building. The partner will shape the clinic's design and operations, set medical standards with full clinical autonomy, hire their team, build community relationships, and lead as an owner with decision-making authority and direct benefit from the practice's success. CityVet provides capital, infrastructure, and experience, mitigating the usual startup risks. Support is available for real estate, build-out, business operations (HR, payroll, finance, procurement), growth (recruiting, marketing), technology, legal, and leadership development. The focus is on medicine and leadership, with CityVet handling the rest.
Requirements
- DVM/VMD or equivalent, licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure
- 3+ years of small animal experience
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build something of your own
- Leadership or mentorship experience, or a strong desire to grow into it
- Someone who wants to own outcomes, not just appointments
Responsibilities
- Shape the clinic from the start, including design, equipment, services, and opening plans.
- Set the medical standard and practice philosophy with full clinical autonomy.
- Hire and build the clinic team with the help of the recruiting team.
- Become part of the community by building relationships with families, rescues, and shelters.
- Lead as an owner, making decisions that drive practice success and sharing directly in the value created.
- Focus on medicine and leadership while CityVet assists with business operations, growth, technology, and legal support.
