About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators can negotiate rates with dispatchers and may receive personalized loads based on their preferences. The company describes its dispatchers as having more than four years of experience and says it has a large number of loads and broker contacts. Rates listed are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for Sprinters on long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile for Sprinters in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated working days are Monday through Friday. The posting gives a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and whether the driver has a Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC.

Requirements

Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
The owner-operator and drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
Sprinter vehicles must be no older than 2016.
Vehicles must have at least 4 straps and PPE.
Remove all decals from the vehicle.
Submit vehicle registration and insurance.
All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.

Responsibilities

Operate an owner-provided Sprinter or Cargo Van to accept and transport loads.
