About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and Cargo Van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company offers a large number of loads, personalized load selection based on driver preferences, and rates that may be negotiated with dispatchers. Dispatchers have at least four years of experience and broker contacts. Stated rates are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for Sprinters on long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile on long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile for Sprinters in Canada. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated work days are Monday through Friday. The company does not hire company drivers; drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a load.

Requirements

Own a Sprinter or Cargo Van.
Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
The owner-operator and any drivers must be at least 21 years old.
The owner-operator and any drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
Sprinter vehicles must be no older than 2016.
Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE.
Remove all decals from the vehicle.
Send vehicle registration and insurance.
Drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting loads.

Nice To Haves

Russian language ability is accommodated; the company also hires Russian speakers.
A Hazmat certificate and TSA/TWIC may affect earning potential.

Responsibilities

Operate as an owner-operator under a written independent contractor agreement.
Accept and transport loads offered by VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER after approval, acceptance, and registration.
Provide vehicle registration and insurance documentation.
Inform the company before putting a vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
