About The Position

Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) is hiring a Street Sweeper to operate a street sweeper and specialized equipment on assigned routes in Doral, Florida. The role supports public safety and environmental quality by keeping streets clean and well-maintained. The position works the third shift, with minimal travel, and pays $20–$21 per hour; the employee is eligible for a first pay increase at six months. The Street Sweeper is responsible for inspecting equipment, preparing for and completing assigned routes, handling materials correctly, and following traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site protocols. The employee must report equipment issues, incidents, and safety concerns promptly, complete required documentation, communicate professionally, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain regular, predictable attendance. The work is primarily outdoors and involves operating specialized sweeping equipment and using required personal protective equipment. Physical demands include frequent sitting and walking or standing, occasional bending and similar movements, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. The role requires continuous reading, screen use, focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of DOT driving experience.
CDL-B license and DOT Medical Card.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Maintain an acceptable driving record and successfully pass a motor vehicle record check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Ability to follow safety procedures, conduct inspections, operate equipment responsibly, and comply with traffic, site, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to plan routes, complete work efficiently and accurately, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain dependable attendance.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates, represent the company professionally, and promptly report equipment issues, incidents, or safety concerns.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to use hand controls and foot controls and perform work requiring fine motor skills.
Ability to use required personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and verify safety features are operational.
Review assigned routes before departure and clarify unclear routes or expectations.
Complete assigned jobs within the allotted timeframe while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site-specific protocols.
Use additional caution in inclement weather and challenging site conditions.
Handle materials safely and securely, applying correct procedures for material types and disposal sites.
Report equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, and injuries within 30 minutes or as soon as safely possible.
Escalate opportunities, work issues, and safety concerns to management.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
Accurately complete required logs, manifests, and forms.
Respond appropriately to changes and challenges and identify and resolve issues promptly.
Report to work on time and as scheduled, prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, and adhere to start times, breaks, and end times.
