About The Position

Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) is hiring a full-time Street Sweeper to provide essential street sweeping and environmental services. The role is based in Beech Grove, Indiana, and works a third shift, with moderate travel (26–50%). Compensation is $25–$26 per hour. The Street Sweeper takes ownership of assigned routes, drives a street sweeper, and operates specialized equipment to keep streets clean and well-maintained. The role requires safe equipment operation, attention to route quality and timing, accurate documentation, professional communication, and reliable attendance. Work is performed outdoors with regular exposure to weather, elements, and traffic. Employees must use appropriate personal protective equipment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of DOT driving experience.
CDL-B license and DOT Medical Card.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Maintain an acceptable driving record and pass a motor vehicle record check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Ability to follow safety procedures, conduct inspections, operate equipment responsibly, and comply with traffic, site, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to plan routes, complete work efficiently and accurately, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain dependable attendance.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates, represent the company professionally, and promptly report equipment issues, incidents, or safety concerns.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to use hand controls, foot controls, and fine motor skills, and to read, use screens, maintain mental focus, and coordinate hand and eye movements throughout the workday.
Ability and willingness to use required PPE, including high-visibility apparel and eye, ear, hand, foot, head, lung, and skin protection.

Responsibilities

Perform required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and ensure safety features are operational before starting a route.
Review assigned routes before departure and ask questions when routes or expectations are unclear.
Complete assigned jobs within the allotted timeframe while maintaining expected quality and attention to detail.
Operate equipment safely and efficiently, following traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site-specific protocols; exercise additional caution in inclement weather or challenging conditions.
Handle materials safely and securely, applying the correct procedures for material types and disposal sites.
Report equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, and injuries within 30 minutes or as soon as safely possible.
Escalate opportunities, work issues, and safety concerns to management promptly.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance on job sites and in public areas; communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
Accurately complete required logs, manifests, and forms.
Respond appropriately to changes and challenges and identify and solve issues in a timely manner.
Report to work on time and as scheduled, remain prepared throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhere to start times, breaks, and end times.
