Overnight Room Service Server (On-Call)
About The Position
Four Seasons Resort O’ahu at Ko Olina is seeking an On-Call Overnight Room Service Server with a passion for excellence and the spirit of aloha. The position reports to the Room Service Manager and serves guests by providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items, including preparation methods. The server works independently and with discipline to complete necessary tasks that support the success of the department. The role includes delivering guest food orders and special requests to guest rooms promptly while checking kitchen orders against the original order. Servers greet guests, describe menu items and their origins, tastes, and preparation methods, communicate options for tray and dishware removal, and respond to removal requests within established time standards. The position also involves maintaining room service tables, condiment setups, flatware, dishware, and side stations; anticipating guest needs and responding to concerns; accurately closing and settling guest checks; and completing overnight tasks and preparing operations for the morning shift.
Requirements
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
- At least one year of previous experience in a similar position in a luxury environment.
- Experience in communication and computer skills.
- Service passion.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Legal work authorization in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food orders and special requests to guest rooms promptly, checking completed kitchen orders against the order taker’s or guest’s original order and maintaining food quality.
- Greet guests and describe menu items, including their origin, taste, and preparation methods.
- Communicate options for tray and dishware removal and respond to removal requests within established time standards.
- Break down, clean, and set up room service tables, condiment setups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Accurately close guest checks, securing the room number and signature, and properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
- Complete the overnight task list in an organized and disciplined manner, prepare for the morning shift, and set up daily operations for success.
