About The Position

Coordinate the timely movement of customer products safely and efficiently while complying with company rules and DOT regulations. Assign work to available drivers, monitor product movements, and resolve delivery and scheduling issues. Use Ruan transportation management systems to capture required operational data accurately and in near real time. This is a full-time, on-site position in Bethel, Pennsylvania, scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
1–2 years of experience in transportation, dispatching, terminal assistance, customer service, or a related area.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
Strong working knowledge of dispatch-system technology and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Ensure timely pickup and delivery of customer orders within the assigned area while meeting customer expectations and using drivers and equipment efficiently.
Direct and schedule drivers’ work, communicate assignments, and monitor driver activities and performance to support on-time, efficient movement of goods.
Identify and resolve daily service and scheduling issues; escalate issues to management as appropriate and communicate professionally with customer contacts.
Monitor drivers’ hours of service to prevent DOT violations.
Communicate regularly and promptly with customers about issues affecting service or their expectations.
Prepare and process operational data and paperwork, including driver activities in computer systems, activity reports and trip documents, driver hours of service, fuel tickets, and other required items.
Update driver and dispatch information in the dispatch system in real time.
Monitor and promote safety throughout dispatch operations.
