About The Position

PowerPay is seeking an experienced Underwriter to support its expanding financial technology business. The Underwriter works closely with customer operations and sales to help deliver a positive experience while supporting loan origination across PowerPay’s partner network. The role reviews loan applications and supporting documentation, analyzes applicant income and credit history, and makes application decisions in accordance with credit policies and company guidelines. It also involves coordinating with applicants, clients, and the sales team, managing a loan pipeline for timely transactions, and clearly documenting approval or rejection decisions. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
Solid understanding of the economics related to financing.
Solid understanding of the risk elements related to financing.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Experience as an underwriter is sought; no specific duration is stated.

Responsibilities

Review loan applications and documentation for completeness and adherence to credit policies.
Analyze income and credit history to make application decisions.
Obtain and review new loan documentation as needed.
Ensure all underwriting conditions are satisfied.
Communicate and coordinate information with applicants, clients, and the sales team.
Manage the loan pipeline to ensure timely and smooth transaction flow.
Ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines.
Document and effectively communicate reasons for loan approval or rejection.
