About The Position

Turtle is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Associate to join its team in Austin, Texas. This salary-plus-unlimited-commission role focuses on delivering helpful customer service, managing and growing existing accounts, and pursuing new business. The position requires travel within an assigned territory and the ability to operate a motor vehicle with a current driver’s license and good driving record. Turtle is an electrical and industrial distributor founded in 1923. The company describes itself as a fourth-generation, family-owned and three-generation women-owned business, with operations across the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence decisions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of ship-to-shore cranes.
Lighting and gear product and application knowledge.
Experience in at least one sales area: Industrial OEM, Automation, Lighting, Power Distribution, Commodities, or Energy.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle, a current driver’s license, and a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

Industrial and/or commercial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate products.
Manage and grow existing accounts and pursue new business accounts.
Generate sales with new customers and sell additional products to existing customers.
Identify product applications using personal knowledge and available internal specialists, resources, vendor representatives, and other sources.
Establish and maintain customer relationships.
Learn and evaluate customer operations to identify customer objectives, requirements, and preferences.
Process product quotations with inside sales counterparts and follow up throughout the customer’s purchasing cycle.
Travel within an assigned territory.
