About The Position

Inova OBGYN is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse to provide care in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. This is a full-time, day-shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., located at 3620 Joseph Siewick Dr., Suite 307, Fairfax, VA 22033.

The nurse provides safe, therapeutic, holistic, and systematic care, incorporating patient and family needs and education. The role uses an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes, applies data to improve care, and helps ensure efficient clinic operations. The nurse also provides direction and guidance to colleagues and serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing; nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
• RN license, or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience required.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform full patient intakes.
• Reconcile medications.
• Provide patient education.
• Administer vaccinations and injections and perform phlebotomy.
• Provide safe, therapeutic, holistic, and systematic care in a physician practice or other outpatient setting.
• Incorporate patient and family differences, needs, and education into care.
• Use an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Use data and information to improve care and enhance outcomes.
• Provide direction and guidance to others and serve as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
• Ensure efficient delivery of care.
• Determine immediate priorities and offer solutions to problems.

• Make independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.
