About The Position

Inova OBGYN - McLean is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Registered Nurse to work in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. The position is full time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 6845 Elm St #600, McLean, Virginia 22101. The nurse provides safe, therapeutic, holistic and systematic care, adapting care to patients’ and families’ needs and supporting desired patient outcomes through an integrated approach. The role also contributes to efficient care delivery, improved practice and outcomes, and team productivity.

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
• Registered Nurse license, or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse, in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of RN experience in Labor & Delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential clinic or non-acute duties, including full intakes, medication reconciliation, patient education, vaccinations, injections, and phlebotomy.
• Provide safe, therapeutic, holistic and systematic care in an outpatient setting, incorporating patient and family differences and needs.
• Educate patients and families and use an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes.
• Use data and information to improve care and enhance outcomes while supporting improvements in practice settings.
• Provide direction and guidance to others and serve as a resource, preceptor, and mentor.
• Promote efficient care delivery by determining immediate priorities, offering solutions to problems, and working with the team to maximize productivity.
• Make independent clinical decisions based on education and experience.
