Outdoor Pursuits Attendant
About The Position
Dune Deck Beach Club is seeking seasonal Outdoor Pursuits Attendants for May through September 2027. The role provides personal and professional service to members across the property in connection with outdoor activities. Attendants help organize, instruct, and encourage participation in activities, while contributing to a safe and enjoyable experience for members, guests, and fellow employees. The position involves hands-on work across the Club, including preparing activity areas and excursions, maintaining supplies, participating in activities with members, and supporting sporting and special events. Attendants must follow operating procedures, communicate with supervisors and managers, and represent the property professionally. The work may involve flexible hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours based on business demands, as well as indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the guest service industry.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during busy periods.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; standing, walking, and moving for more than eight hours; and lifting and carrying items sometimes exceeding 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Follow Outdoor Pursuits standard operating procedures.
- Perform assigned duties throughout the Club, including stocking, cleaning, and preparing for member excursions and activities.
- Attend morning briefings and end-of-day shutdowns according to the schedule set by management.
- Attend, participate in, and support Outdoor Pursuits training and staff meetings; communicate effectively with supervisors and managers.
- Represent the property and Discovery Land Company as an ambassador on and off the property.
- Stay current with the Employee Handbook and adhere to its requirements.
- Arrive on time for shifts and job assignments.
- Help conduct monthly stock takes and inventories of parts and tools as advised by the Outdoor Pursuits Manager.
- Maintain knowledge of and instruct activities including surfing, pickleball, volleyball, football, baseball, paddle boarding, tubing, frisbee, and watersports.
- Set up and break down movies on the beach.
- Greet members and participate in activities and games with them.
- Facilitate sporting and special events.
- Help members in and out of the water with equipment and ensure the safety of members and children in and around pools and the beach.
- Make bonfires.
- Attend to members and guests using Outdoor Pursuits areas, maximizing their safety and enjoyment.
