About The Position

MAT Holdings is seeking an Outbound Team Lead for the 1st Shift to lead a department of 10-15 employees. This role involves daily communication meetings, assigning workloads, and training, motivating, and leading the department to meet daily production and safety goals. The Team Lead will take accountability for all department operations, actions, and results, while taking direction from the shift supervisor. The position also includes supporting environmental projects and ensuring compliance with environmental procedures within the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience in Warehousing
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Judgement and decision making skills
  • Adept knowledge of RF Scanners/Systems
  • Proficiency in using computers and associated software programs including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to be certified to operate a Forklift (Order Picker, Sit-down or Walkie-Rider)
  • Ability to understand the basic throughput of a Logistics Operation
  • Ability to lead 10 or more people in a warehouse setting
  • Shipping and/or Receiving experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead a department of 10-15 employees in daily communication meetings and issuing daily workloads.
  • Train, motivate, and lead the department to meet all daily production and safety goals.
  • Take accountability for all department operations, actions, and results.
  • Assist with start-up meetings and report attendance issues to the supervisor.
  • Move people to other areas as business and attendance dictate.
  • Assign what is to be picked by each person/area.
  • Monitor orders being picked on an hourly basis.
  • Enforce company policies such as PPE requirements.
  • Pick hot orders that need to ship on the same day.
  • Ensure pickers check 5 pcs per order.
  • Oversee the training of new employees.
  • Monitor every area for housekeeping/WPO.
  • Communicate any safety, productivity, or quality issues with the supervisor.
  • Monitor weekly workload with the supervisor to determine any overtime needs.
  • Page maintenance for any mechanical trouble with wrappers or bar coders.
  • Support the EMT and environmental projects within the department.
  • Actively support and promote the Environmental Policy in their department.
  • Understand operations and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Be knowledgeable about the proper procedures for handling all chemicals and waste within their department.
  • Ensure that all environmental procedures are complied with in their department.
