About The Position

PITT OHIO is hiring an Outbound Supervisor at its Williamsville, NY location. The role oversees outbound operations, including planning nightly freight activity, coordinating staffing and schedules, supervising dockworkers and road drivers, ensuring proper shuttle loading and hazardous-material paperwork compliance, and maintaining compliance with applicable safety regulations and policies. The supervisor also supports employee concerns and suggestions and implements the 90-day onboarding process. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 3 PM to 1 AM. The listed annual pay range is $73,000 to $78,000.

Requirements

• Fluent command of English to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Minimum high school education.
• One year of trucking experience or a similar background.
• Competence and proficiency with Microsoft Office software products.
• Knowledge of hazardous materials and D.O.T. regulations.
• Sound decision-making, problem-solving skills, and good judgment.

Nice To Haves

• College education preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review dispatch to understand volumes, headlines, and appointment freight.
• Advise Linehaul Control of accurate lane projections and linehaul needs.
• Monitor and maintain proper scheduling of road drivers, dockworkers, and city drivers.
• Develop an effective plan for each night's outbound operations and communicate the plan to employees.
• Directly supervise dockworkers and road drivers to ensure outbound shuttles are properly loaded.
• Check shuttle paperwork for hazardous-material compliance.
• Maintain a positive work environment and handle employee concerns, ideas, and suggestions for improvement.
• Ensure safety-related matters comply with federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
• Implement the 90-day onboarding process.
• React productively to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
