About The Position

The Outbound Supervisor is responsible for efficient shift operations, including effective workforce utilization, adherence to standard operating procedures, and training and motivating crew members to work safely and productively. The role supervises material handlers, selectors, and partial-order pullers and oversees outbound work across docks and coolers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of operations or warehouse experience in shipping and receiving perishable products, or a combination of education and industry experience.
Ability to supervise, motivate, and train hourly employees.
Ability to solve problems independently and communicate information effectively.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily processes on the dock and in coolers.
Review, coach, and develop outbound associates.
Monitor work and ensure adherence to company policies and safety requirements; issue discipline when necessary.
Interpret company policies, enforce safety and security regulations, and hold daily pre-shift meetings.
Manage labor hours and consumable supplies within budget.
Prepare work schedules and assign or reassign work duties and equipment.
Substitute items that are unavailable for selection and communicate with sales, purchasing, and inventory control.
Spot-check orders for accuracy and quality; pull critical-care orders or double-check them for quality and accuracy.
Inspect material-handling equipment daily to ensure safe operation and coordinate required repairs with maintenance.
Make corrective-action, scheduling, item-substitution, and work-assignment decisions independently; participate in hiring, termination, and staffing-increase decisions subject to review and approval.
