About The Position

Central Transport LLC is a privately owned, technologically advanced less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier serving manufacturing and retail companies. The company has operated for almost 90 years and has more than 200 locations across its network. The SR Outbound Supervisor oversees outbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock in Charlotte, North Carolina. The role includes managing loading, forklift traffic, and freight picking and sortation, and leading local drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a stated salary range of $60,000–$75,000.

Requirements

Experience in a transportation, cross-docking, or shipping and receiving environment; LTL industry experience is preferred.
Familiarity with customs and cross-border transportation.
Strong leadership qualities.

Ability to multitask while remaining detail-oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

An associate or bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Experience in the LTL industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee outbound operations for a designated section of the terminal dock.
Manage loading, forklift traffic, and proper picking and sortation of palletized freight.
Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve the designated production schedule.
Use independent judgment to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
Ensure carriers are properly loaded by monitoring trailer cube and weight.
Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers, and dock hands.
Monitor dock production to ensure facility key performance indicator goals are met or exceeded.
Monitor work hours and overtime.
Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT and OSHA standards.
Ensure compliance with the company operational model.
Support a culture of quality and excellence in service to internal and external customers.
