Orthopedic Surgeon - Generalist/Subspecialist (Chicago, IL)
About The Position
The U.S. healthcare system has a design problem. Orthopedic care – one of the most in-demand, highest-impact specialties in medicine – is locked behind a system that treats access as a privilege, not a right. We re-built Genesis to fix that. After 17 years studying what traditional practice gets wrong, we tore up the playbook. What we've built is something the industry hasn't seen: a financially sustainable, high-throughput, accessibility-first orthopedic model that doesn't ask patients to choose between quality and affordability. We're not a nonprofit. We're not a hospital system. We're a private practice operating at startup velocity – and we’d love for you to join us. We’re looking to relieve our existing surgeons from significant burden, and also grow new volume. We need a surgeon who wants to build something, not just join something.
Requirements
- BC/BE in orthopedics (generalist or subspecialist)
- Licensed in Illinois or can be
- Think like an operator. Care about efficiency, outcomes data, and sustainable unit economics
- Want to own something. Not just a panel. A practice. A model. A future.
- Believe the system can be better. And you're tired of waiting for someone else to fix it.
- Want to be able to treat everyone…tired of people telling you who you can help, and who you can’t because of insurance.
Responsibilities
- High-volume, high-variety casework. We are looking for surgeons across sports medicine, total joint replacement, spine, hand & wrist, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, foot & ankle, and even pediatrics, or General Orthopedics.
- Shaping clinical protocols with a team that's data-obsessed and outcomes-driven, where cost reduction is a priority.
- Research and product development opportunities for surgeons who want to push the field forward
- Team physician roles with professional sports teams and local institutions
- Practice-building – referrals, relationships, community presence – for those who want ownership over their growth
