Orthopedic Surgeon - Generalist/Subspecialist (Aurora, IL)
About The Position
Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is hiring an orthopedic surgeon—generalist or subspecialist—to join its private practice in Aurora, Illinois. The practice offers a near-full case load from day one, with the opportunity to build volume and shape a patient-accessibility-focused orthopedic care model. Surgeons may practice in areas including sports medicine, total joint replacement, spine, hand and wrist, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, foot and ankle, pediatrics, or general orthopedics. The role combines high-volume clinical work with opportunities to shape clinical protocols, contribute to research and product development, serve as a team physician, and build referral relationships and community presence. The practice provides infrastructure that includes one to three APPs who refer into clinics, EPIC EMR, referral networks, administrative support, and shared call. The posting describes a potential equity or partnership pathway and competitive compensation with performance incentives. Genesis is a full-spectrum musculoskeletal platform that provides surgery, physical therapy, and related care across 16 clinics throughout Chicagoland. It also conducts clinical trials and supports surgeon participation in research.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible in orthopedics; generalists and subspecialists are encouraged to apply.
- Licensed in Illinois or able to obtain an Illinois license.
- Interest in efficiency, outcomes data, and sustainable unit economics.
- Interest in building and taking ownership of a practice, care model, or future partnership.
- Commitment to expanding access to high-quality orthopedic care for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-volume orthopedic care in a generalist or subspecialty practice.
- Shape clinical protocols with a data-focused, outcomes-driven team, with cost reduction as a priority.
- Participate in research and product development opportunities, including clinical trials.
- Serve in team physician roles with professional sports teams and local institutions.
- Build the practice through referrals, relationships, and community presence.
- Participate in shared call.
