About The Position

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon for its full-spectrum musculoskeletal platform serving Chicagoland. The role offers a high-volume spine patient population, a full caseload from day one, support from 1–3 APPs, and access to a clinical infrastructure that includes physical therapy, injections, imaging, and pain management. The practice emphasizes thorough conservative care before surgery and provides surgical volume when surgery is clinically appropriate.

The surgeon will treat the full spectrum of spine conditions and procedures, from degenerative disease and decompression to complex reconstruction, revision surgery, trauma, tumor, infection, and motion preservation. The position also offers access to clinical trials, product development, research, and academic opportunities. It is a partnership-track opportunity with potential equity for a surgeon interested in helping build the practice.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in orthopedic surgery.
• Fellowship training in spine surgery.
• Licensed in Illinois or eligible for Illinois licensure.
• Technical breadth and comfort treating the full spectrum of spine cases, from cervical to lumbar and primary to revision procedures.
• Commitment to conservative care as the first approach when clinically appropriate.
• Ability and interest in coordinated, systems-based spine care.
• Alignment with serving underserved patients and providing care without regard to income.
• Interest in a partnership and equity pathway.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat the full spectrum of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions.
• Exhaust appropriate conservative treatment options before recommending surgery.
• Perform spine procedures including decompression, minimally invasive surgery, fusion, complex reconstruction, revision surgery, deformity correction, trauma management, tumor and infection surgery, and motion-preservation procedures.
• Coordinate spine care with imaging, physical therapy, pain management, surgical planning, and postoperative rehabilitation.
• Participate in clinical research, clinical trials, product development, or academic opportunities as appropriate.
• Build the practice with a potential pathway to partnership and equity.
• Participate in shared call.
