About The Position
Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon to care for a high-volume, underserved spine patient population across its full-spectrum musculoskeletal platform in Chicagoland. The practice emphasizes conservative care as the first option, supported by physical therapy, injections, imaging, and pain management, with surgery used when clinically appropriate. The position offers a full caseload from day one, support from 1–3 advanced practice providers, shared call, and a partnership-track opportunity with potential equity. The surgeon will treat the full spectrum of spine conditions and procedures, from degenerative disease and disc herniation to complex reconstruction, revision surgery, deformity correction, trauma, tumors, and infection. Additional opportunities include clinical trials, product development, research, and academic work. The role is based in Aurora, Illinois.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible in orthopedic surgery.
- Fellowship training in spine surgery.
- Licensed in Illinois or eligible for Illinois licensure.
- Comfort with the broad spectrum of spine care, from cervical to lumbar and primary to revision procedures.
- Commitment to conservative care first and to operating when surgery is genuinely indicated.
- Ability and interest in coordinating multidisciplinary spine care.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar degenerative disease, disc herniation, radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, trauma, tumors, infection, and spinal deformity.
- Provide conservative care and complete thorough non-operative workups before recommending surgery when appropriate.
- Perform spine procedures across the spectrum, including decompression, minimally invasive spine surgery, cervical and lumbar fusion, complex reconstruction, revision surgery, deformity correction, and motion-preserving procedures.
- Coordinate care with imaging, physical therapy, pain management, surgical planning, and post-operative rehabilitation.
- Participate in clinical research, clinical trials, product development, or academic opportunities.
