About The Position

Familia Dental’s Madison office is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to help the dentist provide dental care efficiently and effectively while promoting the company’s culture, mission, and values. On-the-job training is provided, and certification is not required to be hired. The position involves both interpersonal and technical skills. Duties may vary to align with state regulations. Full-time and part-time schedules are available; Saturdays may be required when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of patients’ oral health histories and treatment progress.
• Ensure orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use.
• Keep patients’ mouths dry during orthodontic procedures using a suction hose as needed.
• Take intraoral X-rays.
• Photograph patients’ teeth to assist the orthodontist with treatment plans and document progress.
• Take dental molds for customized mouth guards and retainers.
• Remove and replace wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and braces aftercare.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
