About The Position

Familia Dental’s Madison office is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant. On-the-job training is provided, and certification is not required for hire. The assistant helps the dentist provide dental care to patients and supports Familia Dental’s culture, mission, and values. Duties may vary to comply with state regulations.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of patients’ oral health histories and treatment progress.
• Sterilize orthodontic instruments and equipment before each use.
• Keep patients’ mouths dry during orthodontic procedures using a suction hose as needed.
• Take intraoral X-rays.
• Photograph patients’ teeth to assist the orthodontist with treatment planning and document progress.
• Take dental molds for customized mouth guards and retainers.
• Remove and replace wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and braces aftercare.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
