About The Position

Mellion Orthodontics is seeking a part-time Orthodontic Assistant for its Medina office. The practice provides orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic care using current technology, including Invisalign and braces. This patient-facing role supports doctors and teammates in delivering accurate, efficient care and a positive patient experience. The position is approximately 24–30 hours per week and is described as a permanent, part-time opportunity. • Experience in healthcare, dental care, or orthodontics; experience is preferred but not required, and training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly with patients and parents.
• Schedule appointments.
• Take detailed, accurate notes of patient visits.
• Educate patients on and demonstrate proper oral hygiene techniques and the use of elastics or Invisalign aligners.
• Assist the doctor with orthodontic procedures, including arch-wire changes, placing and debonding braces, placing Invisalign attachments, taking dental X-rays, capturing intraoral and facial photographs, and taking intraoral scans with an iTero scanner.
• Sterilize instruments and help prevent infection throughout the treatment area and office.
• Anticipate the needs of doctors and teammates to support an efficient workflow.
• Organize and restock treatment and storage areas.
• Perform other responsibilities as needed.
