About The Position

Children's Dental Center of New Hampshire is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant in Amherst, New Hampshire. The assistant supports the clinical team by providing patient care and assisting dental professionals with treatment in a team-based environment. The role contributes to the organization’s mission of providing excellent dental care in the community and creating positive patient experiences. Prior dental assisting experience is required for consideration.

Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or one year of experience.
X-ray certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

Certified Orthodontic Assistant certification is preferred.
Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake as needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
