About The Position
At Uncommon Orthodontics, the Orthodontic Assistant supports the Orthodontist in providing high-quality patient care. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist, the assistant performs clinical and technical procedures, prepares the patient operatory and equipment, and assists the doctor during examinations and orthodontic treatment. The role requires travel between the Joplin and Nevada, Missouri clinics. The position aims to provide superior support to doctors and demonstrate respect and care toward patients and office personnel. Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist with patients and support the delivery of high-quality care.
- Perform clinical and technical procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist.
- Prepare the patient operatory and equipment.
- Assist the doctor during examinations and orthodontic treatment.
- Clearly and calmly communicate treatment needs to parents and patients using the prescribed treatment plan.
- Recognize prior authorization requirements and ensure signed consent forms are in place.
- Remain attentive to patients’ comfort and safety needs.
- Document all treatment rendered clearly and concisely using electronic and paper dental records and forms.
- Perform general housekeeping and restock supplies as needed.
- Travel between the Joplin and Nevada, Missouri clinics.
