About The Position
Westrock Orthodontics is seeking a high-energy Orthodontic Assistant for its Travel Team, supporting clinics in Hot Springs and Texarkana. The role includes 1–2 travel days per week to Texarkana, with hours running from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM on those days. The company provides a team travel van and pays for all travel time. Working alongside Orthodontists, the assistant provides clinical support and helps create a welcoming, comfortable patient experience. Duties include chairside assistance during exams and orthodontic treatments, performing expanded clinical functions under direct doctor supervision, using 3D digital scanners, educating patients, preparing and turning over treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining patient records.
Requirements
- Prior experience in dental or orthodontic assisting.
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, clinical terminology, and patient workflow.
- Ability to travel and work across both the Hot Springs and Texarkana practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with patients of all ages.
- Proactive, adaptable, supportive, and collaborative approach.
Nice To Haves
- Prior orthodontic assisting experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist chairside during comprehensive exams and orthodontic treatments, supporting appointment flow and patient comfort.
- Place and remove archwires, coil springs, bands, retainers, and attachments under direct doctor supervision.
- Use 3D digital scanners to take impressions and assist with fabrication of custom appliances and aligners.
- Guide patients through treatment, explain oral hygiene, and help troubleshoot appliance care.
- Prepare treatment suites, sterilize instruments according to safety protocols, and maintain efficient room turnarounds.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely patient records and treatment notes.
- Travel between the Hot Springs and Texarkana practices, including 1–2 travel days per week to Texarkana.
