About The Position
Westrock Orthodontics is seeking a talented and caring Orthodontic Assistant to help provide high-quality patient care. The assistant works with the Orthodontist and performs clinical and technical procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist. Responsibilities include preparing patient operatories and equipment, assisting during examinations and orthodontic treatment, supporting clinical workflows, and helping patients understand their treatment and appliance care. The role also involves recording treatment notes and collaborating with the team throughout each patient’s journey.
Requirements
- Experience in dental or orthodontic assisting.
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, procedures, and terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus; all candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist during examinations and treatments, helping patients feel comfortable and procedures run smoothly.
- Prepare operatories, sterilize equipment, and support clinical workflows.
- Perform orthodontic procedures, including placing and removing wires, coil springs, bands, and retainers, under direct supervision.
- Conduct digital scans and assist with fabricating customized appliances and retainers.
- Educate patients about treatment plans, oral hygiene, and appliance care.
- Record treatment notes accurately.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver care throughout the patient’s journey.
