About The Position
At Westrock Orthodontics, the Orthodontic Assistant supports the Orthodontist in providing high-quality patient care. The assistant performs clinical and technical procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist, prepares patient operatories and equipment, and assists the doctor during examinations and orthodontic treatment. This position supports clinics in Waynesville and Camdenton, Missouri.
Requirements
- Experience in dental or orthodontic assisting.
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, procedures, and terminology.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist during examinations and treatments, helping patients feel comfortable and ensuring procedures run smoothly.
- Prepare operatories, sterilize equipment, and support clinical workflows.
- Perform orthodontic procedures, including placing and removing wires, coil springs, bands, and retainers, under direct supervision.
- Conduct digital scans and assist with fabricating customized appliances and retainers.
- Educate patients about treatment plans, oral hygiene, and appliance care.
- Record treatment notes accurately and collaborate with the team throughout the patient’s care journey.
