About The Position

Burr Orthodontics is seeking a talented, energetic, and compassionate Orthodontic Assistant to support clinical care and patient experience. The role works directly alongside the orthodontist and supports the Dickson and Waverly, Tennessee locations as part of a multi-site travel team. The practice is willing to train a candidate with the right attitude. The assistant performs orthodontic procedures under direct doctor supervision, supports digital scanning and appliance fabrication, prepares treatment areas, sterilizes instruments, educates patients and parents, and maintains accurate treatment notes. The role contributes to efficient clinical workflows and a positive patient journey.

Nice To Haves

Background in dental or orthodontic assisting is preferred.
Familiarity with orthodontic terminology, tools, and procedures, or high mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to learn.

Responsibilities

Place and remove wires, coil springs, bands, and retainers under direct doctor supervision.
Conduct digital scans and assist in fabricating customized appliances and retainers.
Prepare treatment bays and sterilize instruments.
Educate patients and parents about oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment steps.
Maintain precise treatment notes and collaborate across the clinic to support the patient journey.
Provide multi-site support between the Dickson, TN and Waverly, TN locations.
