Orthodontic Assistant - Westrock Orthodontics
About The Position
Westrock Orthodontics is seeking a talented and caring Orthodontic Assistant to support the Orthodontist and help ensure patients receive high-quality care. The role performs clinical and technical procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed Orthodontist. It includes preparing patient operatories and equipment, assisting during examinations and orthodontic treatment, and helping patients feel comfortable throughout their care. The assistant also performs orthodontic procedures, conducts digital scans, supports the fabrication of customized appliances and retainers, educates patients about treatment and oral hygiene, records treatment notes, and collaborates with the team throughout the patient journey.
Requirements
- Experience in dental or orthodontic assisting.
- Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, procedures, and terminology.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Orthodontist during examinations and treatments, helping patients remain comfortable and procedures run smoothly.
- Prepare operatories, sterilize equipment, and support clinical workflows.
- Perform orthodontic procedures such as placing and removing wires, coil springs, bands, and retainers under direct supervision.
- Conduct digital scans and assist in fabricating customized appliances and retainers.
- Educate patients about treatment plans, oral hygiene, and appliance care.
- Accurately record treatment notes and collaborate with the team to deliver care throughout the patient’s journey.
