About The Position

The Orthopedic Technologist 2-Certified performs patient-oriented procedures and tasks at all LLUHC Orthopedic Clinic sites, within the scope of their education and training, and under the supervision of a physician, supervisor, or licensed staff person. Applies, adjusts and removes all common orthopedic devices and provides training as needed. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an Orthopedic Technology or Allied Health training program required
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience required
  • Orthopedic Technologist certificate required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate
  • Able to accept direction
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone

  • Able to discern temperature variances through touch

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Medical Assistant training and/or experience preferred
