About The Position
The Ortho Tech Assistant plays a vital role in supporting orthopedic healthcare providers by assisting with patient care and the preparation of orthopedic devices. This position ensures that patients receive timely and effective treatment by managing the setup and maintenance of orthopedic equipment and assisting with basic clinical procedures. The Ortho Tech Assistant collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth clinical operations and enhance patient outcomes. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified orthopedic technician training program or relevant clinical experience.
- Basic knowledge of orthopedic terminology and procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.

- Associate degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in an orthopedic or clinical setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities
- Assist orthopedic staff with the preparation and application of orthopedic devices such as splints, casts, and braces.
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterilized and readily available for patient care.
- Support patient positioning and comfort during examinations and procedures, providing clear communication and reassurance.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Manage inventory of orthopedic supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is required.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and safety standards to protect patients and staff.
