About The Position

The Orthopedic Technologist 2-Certified performs patient-oriented procedures and tasks at all LLUHC Orthopedic Clinic sites, within the scope of their education and training, and under the supervision of a physician, supervisor, or licensed staff person. Applies, adjusts and removes all common orthopedic devices and provides training as needed. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an Orthopedic Technology or Allied Health training program required.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience required.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
  • Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Able to accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Able to think critically.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to perform basic math functions.
  • Able to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to problem solve.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Able to recall information with accuracy.

  • Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care.
  • Able to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone.
  • Able to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care.
  • Able to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.
  • Able to discern temperature variances through touch.
  • Orthopedic Technologist certificate required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Medical Assistant training and/or experience preferred.
