About The Position

This position is for the Organic Repair Capability Assessment (ORCA) Team Lead. The role involves travel up to 35% for Readiness Assessment and Training (RATT) events. RATT events focus on improving technical knowledge, organic repair capability, operational understanding, and performance during assessments, ultimately enhancing readiness. The team provides subject matter experts for deck-plate training, material review, program auditing, and naval readiness support to improve overall proficiency and material readiness. Recommendations are made to the ship and staff to enhance the Navy's ship readiness for sustained operations at sea.

Requirements

Over 20 years of supervisory experience in analyses, information system operations, and implementation of technical projects similar to indicated in the PWS.
Maintenance/training staff experience (e.g. Immediate Superior In Charge (ISIC), Type Commander (TYCOM), or Afloat Training Group).
In-depth knowledge of Navy ship depot level maintenance processes.
In-depth knowledge of the theory and workings of surface ship maintenance processes.
Prior experience as a Repair Officer.
One tour at a Regional Maintenance Center.
Minimum of 3 shipboard tours.
Must have a minimum of 20 years of Navy experience.

Nice To Haves

BS or associates degree or, 7 years demonstrated experience in a management role.

Responsibilities

Partnering with crews to improve technical knowledge, organic repair capability, operational understanding, and performance during assessments.
Conducting Sailor centric deck-plate training.
Performing material review and program auditing.
Providing naval readiness support to enhance overall proficiency and material readiness.
Making recommendations to the ship and staff to enhance CNSP ship's readiness to conduct sustained operations at sea.
