About The Position

Ryder is immediately hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Fort Worth, Texas. This position is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of repairing CHEP pallets that need repair and delivering them to the delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity while adhering to CHEP's quality criteria. The Lead Pallet Repair position is responsible for the completeness and correctness of all pallets repaired.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work within a diverse work environment
  • Highly thorough and dependable
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
  • Performs work independently with minimal supervision
  • Possesses a high degree of initiative
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day)
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to be a team player
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
  • Ability to comprehend basic math
  • Ability to operate power equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
  • Ability to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
  • Ability to follow repair process

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years or more in Warehouse/Manufacturing/Production Environment
  • 1 year or more in Construction or Carpentry

Responsibilities

  • Pallet Repair
  • Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
  • Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets
  • Operate a grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
  • Pallet must meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
  • Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
  • Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Performs other duties as assigned
