About The Position

This role is for an Oracle/SQL Database Technical Lead responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. The position involves ensuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions, managing backups, and supporting cloud environments, specifically AWS. The role also includes managing user access, ensuring security compliance, and collaborating with application developers. Additionally, experience with Delphix for database provisioning and management is required. The role requires participation in 24/7 on-call rotations.

  • Experience with Unified auditing.
  • 8-10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, build, and configure Oracle server software and related products.
  • Perform maintenance, patching, and upgrades of Oracle databases.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as RAC, Data Guard, ACFS.
  • Configure and manage database backups using RMAN and Cohesity.
  • Perform RMAN and logical (data pump) backup and restore operations.
  • Provision, configure, and manage database clones using Cohesity.
  • Interact with Oracle Corporation for technical support when necessary.
  • Set up and maintain documentation and standards (SOPs).
  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations.
  • Analyze and improve database storage and I/O performance.
  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, datapump, and Cohesity.
  • Conduct regular backups and test restore processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage user access, roles, and permissions.
  • Ensure databases comply with security standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Perform audit duties like Unified auditing and apply security patches.
  • Use monitoring tools to track database health, performance, and capacity.
  • Diagnose and resolve database errors and performance issues.
  • Maintain and manage DPA and dashboards like OEM, SolarWinds, New Relic.
  • Work closely with application developers to support database requirements.
  • Provide technical support for Oracle databases.
  • Provide 24/7 and on-call rotations for after-hours support.
  • Install, build, and configure Oracle server software and related products in EC2 instances using terraform.
  • Perform migration of databases from on-premises to AWS cloud.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for database configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Generate reports on database performance, capacity, and usage.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Delphix engine.
  • Create and manage dSource and VDBs.
  • Configure and maintain Delphix Environments.
  • Perform VDB refresh upon requests and configure daily/weekly refreshes.
  • Monitor and fix alerts in Delphix.
  • Manage Delphix engine space.
  • Manage users and data in VDBs using pre/post refresh scripts.
  • Engage with Delphix corporation for technical support when necessary.
