Oracle Month End Close Technical Consultant
About The Position
The Oracle Month End Close Technical Consultant will support and sustain Viasat’s Oracle EBS technical ecosystem, including customizations, interfaces, reports, extensions, integrations, concurrent programs, and supporting technologies. The role works with Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, and other business functions to help critical ERP processes operate reliably and efficiently. A key focus is documenting technical components, reducing key-person dependency, improving supportability, and establishing sustainable knowledge transfer practices. The consultant will inventory and document technical assets and dependencies, analyze existing processes and system interactions, create runbooks and operational documentation, facilitate knowledge-gathering sessions with subject matter experts, develop knowledge-transfer materials, identify support risks and documentation gaps, and help validate technical processes and recovery procedures. Day-to-day work includes reviewing Oracle EBS customizations and RICE objects, analyzing integrations with other applications, documenting support procedures and system dependencies, and conducting cross-training with support teams. The broader team objectives include reducing key-person dependency, improving operational resiliency and business continuity, strengthening governance and knowledge management, improving enterprise application supportability and maintainability, and increasing readiness for future ERP modernization and transformation initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, ERP systems, or business applications.
- Experience documenting technical processes, system configurations, or operational procedures.
- Experience working with technical and business stakeholders to gather and validate information.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Oracle EBS.
- Experience supporting system integrations, interfaces, reports, workflows, or custom applications (CEMLI).
- Experience creating technical documentation, support runbooks, or knowledge management artifacts.
- Experience supporting application support, production support, or operational readiness activities.
- Familiarity with ERP architecture, business process flows, and system dependencies.

Responsibilities

- Document technical designs, support procedures, system dependencies, and operational runbooks.
- Identify undocumented processes and single points of failure.
- Conduct cross-training sessions with support teams.
