OR/PACU RN (Every Other Weekend)
About The Position
Shady Grove Fertility is seeking a part-time OR/PACU Registered Nurse for its Fairfax, Virginia team. The role supports patients through preoperative assessment, surgery, and recovery, with a focus on excellent clinical care, patient education, comfort, and emotional support. The nurse works collaboratively with clinical colleagues and contributes to a patient-centered fertility care experience. The schedule is every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, plus one to two holidays per year. Compensation is $40 to $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
- Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
Nice To Haves
- Two to three years of clinical experience in an operating/procedure room or PACU experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems and formulate care plans.
- Perform initial preoperative assessments, develop a plan of care, and explain subsequent phases of surgery.
- Provide comfort measures and psychological support to patients and their family members.
- Care for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation.
- Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed.
- Provide patient education.
