About The Position

Eye Designs Optometry is seeking an Optometric Technician I in Citrus Heights to support optometrists in providing patient care and a smooth patient experience. The role includes assisting throughout the examination process, performing diagnostic tests, gathering medical histories, and helping patients understand vision benefits. The technician also supports contact lens training, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and office communications. This is a collaborative role in a fast-paced environment, with training and opportunities to develop clinical skills or advance into leadership.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to educate and connect with patients.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented approach, passion for self-improvement, and willingness to learn new skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to document patient exams and procedures accurately.
• Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules as needed.
• Proactive attitude toward team success.

Nice To Haves

• Optometric experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists with patient care from pre-screening through post-exam follow-up.
• Perform diagnostic tests and gather patient medical histories.
• Assist in educating patients about their vision benefits.
• Guide patients through contact lens training and insurance verification.
• Schedule patients’ next visits and coordinate appointments.
• Manage office communications and help ensure smooth patient flow.
