About The Position
The Visionworks OD Tech/Optometric Assistant is the face of the exam practice and helps ensure a positive patient experience. The role involves knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The assistant guides patients through the first steps of their visit and helps make sure their eye exam needs are met.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
- Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and share relevant information with associates so they can recommend products and services suited to patients’ eye-care needs.
- Support daily exam-lane operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones.
- Open and close the store or office as needed.
