About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Opticians to help customers meet their eyewear needs and provide exceptional service. The Optician will develop expertise in the brand and its glasses, help customers understand products and prescription terminology, and ensure eyewear is accurately measured, fitted, adjusted, and checked against optical standards and customer requests. The role involves working collaboratively with teammates, supporting strong sales and customer-service practices, and representing Warby Parker’s values and mission.

Requirements

Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
Have a passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in ways customers can understand.
Be dedicated to going above and beyond for customers and teammates.
Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
Be detail-oriented and capable of managing a wide range of responsibilities.
Be open-minded, continually learning and challenging existing knowledge.
Take work seriously without taking oneself too seriously.
Not be on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer-service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
