About The Position

The Division of Recreation and Parks, Bureau of Operational Services seeks a high energy, self-motivated individual who can work and think independently with little supervision. The primary focus of this position is providing administrative support to the Business Services Section. The Business Services Section manages or assists in the management of contracts between the Department and vendors, develops outside business agreements to provide visitor services in state parks through concession operations, supports park staff in administrative and business operations related to overnight accommodations and revenue collection and provides technical assistance to users of the park business system (point of sale). This position will schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office principles and procedures; principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication; computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data; utilize problem solving techniques; prepare reports and records; plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; work independently; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; conduct fact finding research; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; organize and maintain records and files; learn new skills; learn to work in the Park Business System.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Review financial reports for accuracy and completion.
  • Review, properly route and respond to support requests from internal and external service recipients.
  • Compile, maintain and report data using Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.
  • Receive, review and draft professional documents and correspondence.
  • Proofread legal documents.
  • Make and receive phone calls.
  • Maintain contract files in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and distribute to participants.
  • Make purchases within State of Florida guidelines.
  • Fulfill online orders of Annual Entrance Passes made through the park business system.
  • Perform administrative functions in the Park Business System.
  • Complete and participate in special projects as assigned.
