About The Position
Discover Vision Centers is seeking Ophthalmic Technicians to join its growing eye care team in Kansas City. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong computer and data-entry skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first mindset.
Nice To Haves
- One year of medical or ophthalmic office experience.
- COA or COT certification; certification is not required for otherwise qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, assist with check-in, and provide excellent service throughout their visit.
- Verify and record patient information, medical history, medications, and reason for visit.
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, pupil assessment, refraction, dilation, intraocular pressure, and extraocular movement testing.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures using OCT, visual fields, GDX, IOL Master, auto-refractor, and corneal topography.
- Apply knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure exam rooms and equipment are ready for patients.
- Support the clinical team with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
