About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations in a fast-paced outpatient eye care setting. This role involves performing diagnostic testing, assisting physicians, and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred
- Experience in eye care or outpatient specialty clinics preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy in clinical tasks
- Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual fields, tonometry, color vision, and ocular motility assessments
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and documentation
- Obtain and record patient medical and personal history
- Prepare patients for exams and minor procedures
- Clean, sterilize, and prepare ophthalmic instruments
- Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment (e.g., slit lamp, tonometer, keratometer)
- Coordinate lab tests, imaging, and surgical scheduling as needed
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized
- Provide patient education and support regarding procedures and treatments
- Assist with laser treatments and minor in-office procedures
