About The Position

Retina Consultants of Carolina is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join its practice in Greenville, South Carolina. The technician works closely with physicians and other technicians to provide high-quality patient care. The role includes conducting preliminary testing, documenting patients’ chief complaints and medical histories, managing patient flow, preparing patients for procedures, and scribing for physicians. The position is full-time and non-exempt, and requires travel to the practice’s other offices as needed. The practice provides a detailed training program and dedicated trainers. Offers are contingent on successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in the medical field.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
• Willingness to learn and master new tasks and processes.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Time management skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in ophthalmology.
• Experience with visual acuity testing.
• Experience with pupillometry screening.
• Experience with tonometry testing and reading.
• Experience with ocular motility examinations.
• Working knowledge of ocular photography techniques, including OCT and fundus photography.
