About The Position

Viaflex is seeking an Operator to operate large machines in a production environment to produce products. Equipment may include extrusion machines, laminators, tarp machines, winders, and seal carts. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with a $3-per-hour night premium. The role involves loading and unloading materials, packaging products for shipment, monitoring materials and machine conditions, maintaining a safe and clean work area, and learning to set up and operate large machines. Operators also support Viaflex’s team-member values and quality management system in accordance with ISO standards. The position is based primarily in a normal office environment, with occasional work in production areas where noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures may be present.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Aptitude to learn mechanical skills.
• Ability to work as a team player, stay self-motivated, and work with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace.
• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to operate a forklift, pallet mover, or hoist equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.

Nice To Haves

• Previous machine operation experience is preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload material throughout production runs.
• Prepare material for shipment by cutting, wrapping, palletizing, banding, and labeling it.
• Monitor material and machine conditions.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by completing general housekeeping tasks.
• Learn to set up and operate large machines.
• Demonstrate Viaflex Team Member Values and encourage teammates to do the same.
• Perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and assist in other areas as needed.
• Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
