Operator: Weekend Nights ($6/hr premium)
About The Position
Operate various types of large machines in a production environment to produce products. Machines may include extrusion, laminator, tarp machine, winder, and seal cart, among others. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The position includes a $3-per-hour night-shift premium and a $3-per-hour weekend premium, for a total premium of $6 per hour. Viaflex creates film and sheeting solutions, including liners, covers, and barriers, with a focus on preserving customer assets and protecting Earth’s resources. The company has more than 400 team members across six locations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Aptitude for learning mechanical skills.
- Ability to work as a team player, self-motivate, and work with minimal supervision.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace.
- Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
- Good eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to operate forklift, pallet mover, or hoist equipment; forklift certification may be required.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.
Nice To Haves
- Previous machine operation experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload material throughout production runs.
- Prepare material for shipment by cutting, wrapping, palletizing, banding, and labeling it.
- Monitor material and machine conditions.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by completing general housekeeping tasks.
- Learn to set up and operate large machines.
- Demonstrate Viaflex Team Member Values and encourage the team to do the same.
- Perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and assist in other areas as needed.
- Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
